The project coordinator will manage all aspects of a USDA Farmers Market Promotional Program (FMPP) grant intended to develop a marketing strategy for the Watauga County Farmers’ Market (WCFM) and improve the farmers’ market infrastructure through vendor education, upgrading the market web presence, improving electronic communications, etc.
Specific duties of the project coordinator include:
- Responsibility for managing all aspects of the FMPP grant including project documentation, financial record keeping, fund requests, reporting, and project evaluation;
- Responsibility for identifying web and marketing specialists and developing agreements with the specialists to help reinvigorate the WCFM marketing presence;
- Working with the WCFM manager to provide content for the web and marketing materials upgrade;
- Close and frequent communication with the WCFM board regarding project direction.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Familiarity with grants management;
- Familiarity with contracting for professional services (e.g. web and marketing);
- Computer literacy;
- A demonstrated interest in sustainable local food and business.
This is a 22-month contract position. It is expected that the workload for the project coordinator will average approximately one day per week throughout the project period. Compensation for the work is $25,080. The payment schedule will be set on a mutually agreeable timetable.
